A metaphor for future businesses
Business innovation frameworks often overwhelm executives with abstract models and complex matrices. But what if a strategy could feel as intuitive as watching a ball roll down a hill?
The Rolling Ball explainer video distills Top Dog Advisory’s methodology into metaphor that makes complex dynamics instantly clear.

The Attention Problem
C-suite executives need to quickly judge whether a consulting methodology fits their business. TDA’s Rolling Ball Framework, refined over years and trusted by startups and Fortune 50 companies alike, had to become clear in just 90-seconds. By translating its four dimensions of size, assets, risk, and market pull into familiar physics like diameter, friction, and magnetism, the video made a complex model instantly accessible and memorable.

Our Hero
The Rolling Ball video required a visual system that was both intuitive and distinctive. The rolling ball was developed as a protagonist rather than just a symbol. Built modularly from shared components, each version could be refactored with different textures, patterns, and treatments to reflect the individuality of a business while staying part of a consistent system.

A Rolling Ball business has 4-dimensions
The design language paired a 3D Rolling Ball as the central character with 2D elements for the four business dimensions. This contrast kept the visuals clear and graphic while adding depth and dynamism.

1. Diameter
Reflects the future business size. Bigger business, bigger diameter.
2. Mass
Represents the set of business assets: code, marketing, brand value.
3. Friction
As business risks are reduced, the ball’s surface smooths, rolling more quickly towards target markets.
4. Magnetism
This is the power to attract future customers by excelling in Customer Experience.

Metaphor Made Clear
By balancing 3D form with graphic clarity, the system made each dimension instantly recognizable while keeping the Rolling Ball approachable as a metaphor. The result was a visual language that combined accessibility with distinction, turning abstract strategy into a memorable character-led story.

Navigating toward meaningful impact
The Rolling Ball explainer video shows rather than tells. Strategy becomes physics everyone understands: smooth surfaces roll faster, heavy objects build momentum, magnets create attraction.
Paired with bold, unexpected visuals, the video gives innovation leaders confidence in Top Dog Advisory’s approach. It proves that even complex business concepts can feel simple, tangible and memorable.
